Indoor Riding Arenas: from inception to construction

We believe that an indoor riding arena, besides having a practical function, should be a building of beauty and warmth. It should combine the latest technical innovations in terms of light and ventilation, surface, materials and construction techniques. In many cases planning authorities place considerable restriction on size, layout in relation to local topography, external appearance, light pollution, energy efficiency and many other factors. Working with planners and architects alongside our partner’s own design team, we are able to engineer and construct a bespoke riding arena to meet the most demanding specifications.

Our riding arenas incorporate Schütt’s renowned glulam beams, which combine graceful design with the strength needed for wide spans. We include light ridges to evenly diffuse natural light throughout the arena and provide automated, climate controlled natural ventilation. We can also incorporate teaching and observation areas, advanced computer controlled LED lighting, security and sound systems, entertainment and accommodation facilities.

Much of the large scale fabrication is carried out at Schütt’s factory near Hamburg, and this, together with the use of its own ‘in-house’ construction personnel and the German work ethic, ensures the on-site build time of your riding arena is kept to a minimum, thereby reducing weather delays and cost.
